The VOR spread at running back is the loudest signal on this board. McCaffrey and Robinson sit more than 60 points above the next tier of RB1s, meaning the positional cliff isn't between RB1 and RB2 overall — it's between the top two backs and everyone else. That kind of concentration at the very top is unusual and argues for treating picks 1-2 as a class of their own rather than lumping them with Achane, Gibbs and Barkley.
Quarterback tells a completely different story. Allen and Hurts separate from the pack with VOR marks of 141.6 and 84.4, but Mahomes, Mayfield and Lawrence are essentially stacked on top of each other at 56-57 VOR. A gap that tight across three ranked quarterbacks usually signals the position flattens out fast beyond the top two, which is exactly the kind of pattern that supports waiting on QB rather than reaching in the middle rounds.
Tight end shows the sharpest single-player cliff on the board. McBride's 116.1 VOR nearly doubles the next name in line, and Bowers, Kelce, Loveland and Fannin are bunched within seven points of each other. If that gap holds as the model updates through camp, it would mark one of the more pronounced one-man tiers at any position this preseason — though with games still unplayed, it's worth watching whether it survives contact with real usage data.
