An honest caveat
A model probability is not a promise: across a single weekend even a well-calibrated model will "lose" several games — that is variance, not a defect. Our edge lives in the precision of the numbers versus the market, not in guessing winners. Every value bet the model flags runs openly into our track record — winners and losers alike. The actual picks stay members-only until they settle.
Reading Between the Form Strings
The headline collision is obvious: Manchester City arrive with a perfect W-W-W-W-W while Liverpool's W-D-W-W-D shows occasional slippage. Five games is a thin sample, but the pattern fits a recurring theme — City's results have been binary (win or nothing), while Liverpool are finding ways to drop points without losing outright, often a sign of games being managed rather than dominated.
Look at the bottom-half cluster — Sunderland, Coventry, Crystal Palace and Ipswich — and a shared trait emerges: all four show more losses than any other result in their last five, with no team stringing together consecutive wins. That volatility matters more than the raw tally suggests, since a single-goal swing in any of those games could easily flip an L into a W without changing the underlying performance level much.
Form also diverges in an interesting way between Chelsea and their opponent. Chelsea's L-D-L-W-W reads like a team climbing out of a rut, while Bournemouth's L-D-D-D-L shows stagnation more than regression — three draws sandwiched by losses, suggesting games that are competitive but not decisively lost or won. That's a different profile from a team simply collapsing, even if the points column looks similar.
None of these form strings capture quality of opposition or expected-goals context, so they're best read as a rough sketch of momentum rather than a verdict. The model's own expected-goals numbers, shown fixture by fixture, are a more reliable lens — the recent-form column is there to add color, not to replace that read.
